Brecht Evens
Born in 1986 in Hasselt (Belgium).
Lives and works in Paris.

This award-winning cartoonist first knocked on the shop’s door in 2016 to produce an edition for Louis Vuitton. He has returned countless times to experiment with new techniques, producing, among others, a world map of lyrical poetry in litho that recalls Persian miniatures, or a woodcut in homage to Kuniyoshi, the 19th-century ukiyo-e master. An incredibly quick study, he has an intuitive grasp for even the most sophisticated printmaking methods, including chromolithography, which he thinks through strategically as if it were a chess game.
From 2020 to 2023, he puts out his most important body of work to date, The Jellyfish Hideout, a series of 50 plates in woodcut, lithography and etching, that once scanned are part of the script for his future book, King Medusa (Actes Sud BD).
