Miguel Angel Campano

Back to 80's Archive

Miguel Angel Campano, born in Madrid in 1948, moved to Paris in the early 80s and, like several of his equally thriving compatriots at the time, found success in France. His work is deeply influenced by the landscapes of such French painters as Poussin and Cezanne, but also by Abstract Expressionism. When we worked together, his style could be either simple abstraction or naturalistic. The lithographic series "Doce Solos" (1988) was daring in its composition as well as in its approach. We also produced two important series: "RB" (1990), an homage to Poussin, and the geometric, abstract "Colajes" (1993).
